Writing Habits

I don't start writing right away or write on cue, I like to take a few minutes to compose my thoughts in my head before I write them down. After I think for a while I start writing down my thoughts and as I'm typing I correct and refine my words. I like to write at night, there's something that appeals to me about being the only one awake that makes me feel more creative. Writing in my dorm is my favorite place, we always keep the main bright lights off and turn on our gold fairy lights. I have an organized desk I sit at and a very comfortable chair. I think a good poem needs imagery. Some of my favorite poems have beautiful imagery that paint pictures in my mind. I like poems that make you think or reread them before you understand their meaning.
