Dancers in Blue by Edward Degas

She was drowning in the sea of blue fabric,
Her arms bent behind her,
The other girls were taking a leisurely swim in the blue dresses of their own.
The people behind her, the partygoers,
Blended together in a muddle of noise and colors,
Some looked over when they noticed the dancers,
Four tulips gathered in the corner, getting ready to perform.
